I'm speechless.

Home game vs. the Panthers next.

Wonder which Lions team will show up?

Lose 3 more and we're out of the playoffs.

Still have the Packers twice, the Saints, Oakland and San Diego.

They can still make the playoffs at 10-6....but would need a little help.

Lions cannot lose any of the games they should win because they've finally reached the tough part of their schedule while the Bears have done the opposite.

I would love to see the Bears and Lions take the WC spots.

Present-day Lions need a healthy dose of Lem Barney and Charlie Sanders...

I'm aware there is a thread on the Detroit forum regarding the Lions.

But this is how I handle this particular forum. This thread is similar to the other NFL threads. Team threads are for fans of these teams and are set up for team business; discussion of past games, injury reports, upcoming games, player transactions, etc.

Other fans can post on those threads to compare notes along the subject matter. Posting on a thread and dumping on a club just for yucks is O-U-T.

Keep that in mind. Thank you.

Judging by the quotes in the media by players and coaches, I would say this could turn into a really nasty rivalry between the Bears and Lions. Both teams should be competitive for the near future, should be fun!

I agree. Nothing builds a rivalry like basically being the obstacle the other team has to overcome to get where they want to go.

You have to throw the pack in that mix too....clearly this is the best division in football. (Even the vikings aren't "Miami bad")

If you guys could simply REMOVE that HUGE Chip on your teams shoulders, perhaps they would play better. What is the deal with them??

Playing with a chip isn't a bad thing, they need to channel that energy in a constructive manner.

Remember this:

Years of futility led to an attitude that accepted losing; it wasn't a big deal. I remember a playoff game vs the Packers in Pontiac that didn't even come close to selling out. Blacked out on local TV. A playoff game.

I can't count how many Thanksgiving games were blacked out.

Nobody cared.

When they lose now, they're ticked off. I like that chip on the shoulder.

That chip makes 'em play better ('cept last week vs. the Bears), IMHO.

The Lions are still a few players away from winning the NFC Norris Division, but at the very least, they're much more competitive......it wasn't that long ago that we were 0-16........
