I feel like every week someone throws that term around. And I get the feeling like its mostly posers or casual watchers who throw that term around.

An example is todays Jets vs. Broncos game. I loved that ****. No complaints from me.

Even Jets vs. Ravens was a good game. Low scoring, but still good.

To me an ugly game is where theres a lot of turnovers, snowy-rainy weather, refs are confused, and everyone is just waiting for the game to end.

Like if you got a problem with a low scoring heavy defensive matchup then you aint cut out for this here game.

Lots of penalties, dropped passes, other mistakes

Game takes about 3 1/2 hours to play and no team scores above 17.

I usually think an "ugly win" is where a team under performs to their expectations (ie poor running game, poor passing game) but still wins. They feel fortunate to have pulled out the victory because any other time, they'd have probably lost. "They got away with one."

Pretty much how my favorite team wins.

Ugly game is when neither team looks like they want to win; bad turnovers, bad play calling, tons of penalties, and lethargic play.. Just an all around bad game by both teams that someone was forced to win.

I agree. I just think people throw this term around in improper usage. A game where a team wins 6 to 3 isnt necessarily an ugly game, or an ugly win.
