Clearly, the Raiders amassing 59 points to me stands out as one of the all time "WTF" moments in NFL history, especially if you consider the Raiders body of work over the last 7 years. If you examine the game summary thoroughly, you begin to realize this was not a game where the Raiders built up a big turnover advantage: rather, it represented a good old fashioned ass kicking at the line of scrimmage. Any time you can rush for 6.2 yards a rush, and generate 330 yards of rushing offense, while complimenting it 39 minutes time of possession, you are going to win 999 out of 1000 games. (Peyton Manning might be the only QB good enough to combat this type of stat line and win a game in spite of it) You are looking at, I think after this week of games, the two western divisions in both the AFC and NFC getting 8-8 division winners, at best.

The fake punt that Eric Mangini called was a thing of beauty. Probably my single favorite play of the year, so far. That's the type of play that completely countenances any type of momentum the opposing squad attempts to build. Drew Brees throwing 4 interceptions tells me the Saints really shouldn't be re-evaluated until after Reggie Bush returns. The offense, last week against the Bucs notwithstanding, looks completely out of tune. The Cleveland Browns won this game going away. In my weekly picks pool, I had the Saints with highest confidence in this game. How can one pick these games this year, even without a spread? Teams are all over the place week to week, no consistency.

Finally, what about the Bills hanging 34 points on the Ravens, in Baltimore? The Ravens were thought to have one of the best defenses in the year, going into the season. In fact, the second game of the year, against the Jets, I thought afterwards the Ravens were positioned with the Steelers to compete for the AFC title. Now, I am not so sure.

Though the Steelers won, I am thinking the loss of Aaron Smith is going to loom. He's probably the most underrated defensive player in the league.

Mike Williams of the Seahawks is a shoo-in for comeback player of the year award.

That the Dolphins forced two early turnovers and only got two FGs from them... and that they failed to put the Steelers away .

Oakland's spanking Denver.

The Browns beating the Saints.

The Titan's Kenny Britt came off the bench to catch seven passes for 225 yards and three touchdowns.

The Cheifs are somehow shaping up to be the best team in the AFC West.

Terrell Owens actually showing more humilty than arrogance as he scores a TD against the Falcons.

They were in the 4th quarter.

...

Third quarter.
Absolutely no reflection on Kyle Orton though. The 59-14 debacle was a team effort.

Neither Kyle Orton nor Tim Tebow can play Linebacker or any other defensive position to tackle the running back... You can not put this loss on the QB of Denver.... It was certainly a team effort, much more on the defense and overall coaching....

^^^ You two should meet somewhere in person and have a good old fashioned brawl and get it over with and save the rest of us from your bickering.... I bet after a good thowdown, you'd sit down exhausted, wipe your bloody noses, have a beer and become friends!

The Bills may have found their QB. Now he needs protection and the team needs a defense.
