(CBS/AP) The inevitable has happened: Wade Phillips has been fired. According to CBS Dallas Fort Worth, Phillips is out. The interim head coach? Jason Garrett.
It's good that Jason will get a shot as interm Head Coach. I've heard though that some players are not really happy with him, but maybe as the HC, things may go turn around.
I doubt that Jason will be the Head Coach of the Cowboys next year, but a couple of good games for him this year may give him a chance somewhere else.
Garrett was brought to Dallas as Phillips' prospective replacement and makes the same money as Phillips. He's been the heir apparent since day one.
I've wondered all season long if Garretts play calling (which has been suspect at best) wasn't a deliberate attempt to scuttle the season just to get Wade fired.
From Jones reaction last night, one could suspect that Phillips was done today.
