At the end of the day, all I want is for people to treat Vick as they would their own wayward neighbor or cousin who did something stupid. Vick committed a crime that while heinous in its own class does not elevate him to demon status.
That status should be reserved for people who directly or indirectly initiated actions that cause great harm to human beings. Vick did his time in jail and repented in a way that one can resonably expect from inflicted pain and death to an animal. There are industries out there like Greyhound & Horse racing that are just as abusive and then some, but because their money is greener and hands paler, will never see judgement before man's law.
Let Vick live out his life.

First of all, like anyone on this blog is going to directly affect Michael Vick's life. Please.
Secondly, your racial pandering is waaay over the top. Horse racing is as abusive as (or more than) dog fighting, really??? Do horse trainers strangle horses with their bare hands because they werent good at killing other horses? Ridiculous beyond words.
Finally, if you really believe that money and pale skin make it so that whitey doesnt ever have to face "man's law" then you are perpetuating the very thing you say you oppose.

I was sorry to see Vick get in trouble. I understand the moral equivalency arguments but dogfigthing is something you just don't do. Dogs have been our special allies and protectors for many thousands of years and they will literally lay down their lives for us humans. That's the very quality dog fighters exploit. Seems like a guy as smart as Michael Vick would know that.
AcidSnake, I don't doubt there was racist glee among some who resented Vick being a big shot. But keep it real, man. Vick wasn't prosecuted because he was a black guy, he was prosecuted because he did something despicable and illegal. No other black athletes or celebrities have been prosecuted for this, and that's because they don't do it. A white guy would have gone down for it just like Vick. And no one would have been moaning that it was racist.

If Vick did not have freakish natural athletic ability he would have been a career criminal, and probably would be in jail right now for dealing drugs or armed robbery. Great role model.
