Jan 5th, 2003 NFC Playoffs - Giants blow a 24 point lead in the second half (sound familiar?), and lose to San Fransisco 39-38 in a game they practically gift wrapped to them with costly penalties--Shockey and others, dropped touchdown passes--thanks again Shockey, a botched snap for a winning field goal in closing seconds and sloppy defense.

I loved that game.

As a Colts fan, two games stick out to me:

1. Losing this last Super Bowl to the Saints. Poor defensive performance, failure to recover the onside kick and a bad coaching decision (IMO) to have Stover attempt the 52-yard FG.

2. 2005 Divisional Round loss to the Steelers. The Colts' playoff record under Manning is often debated, but this game is the one true choke, IMO. The Colts came out flat and had to play from behind. They looked completely unprepared for this game.

I grew up a Bengals fan. From that perspective, the loss in Super Bowl XXIII to the Niners on the late Montana-to-Taylor TD pass was particularly painful.

One of the better games played in Pontiac, MI.

Except that Super Bowl XXIII was played in South Florida. You're thinking of the first Bengals-Niners Super Bowl -- Super Bowl XVI.

That game was kind of similar and the only differences was that the 21 pt was in the 3rd qtr and the game was on the road. I thought they were going to the SB that year

Not devasting to me personally - but just the magnitude of that whole situation - see "The Comeback" on page 1.

Personally - Eagles NFC Championship loss to Carolina 14-3. That year, SB was in Houston and I was ready for the Eagles and the fans to raid the town - also, possible Eagles/Pats rematch.

That 35-3 game is the one reason I feel Moon shouldn;t be in the HOF because h should have been able to put his team in position to score 10 or 14 more points. He starts throwing interceptions and never put his team in position to score another TD.

One more TD and that game was over
