LOL you gotta love it! Pure hatred between the teams, but there is still respect at the end of the day. As a Steelers fan, I can assure you that the feeling is mutual.

I wouldn't mind seeing them win the game this week, but I just think GB will edge them out. Your how south hating theory doesn't make sense anyway because there are people who picked Dallas to go to the SB like 3 years in a row.
I recognize a southern accent, even if it is severely diluted.

Very few southern analysts and play by play commentators.

ABC/ESPN Football Monday Night Football

Jon Gruden (Sandusky, Ohio)<-----NORTHERNER
Ron Jaworski (Lackawanna, New York)<-------NORTHERNER
Mike Tirica (Queens, New York)<-----NORTHERNER

FOX NFL

Troy Aiken (West Covina, California)<---Not a southerner
Brian Billick (Fairborn, Ohio)<-------NORTHERNER
Thom Brennan (Ohio)<-------NORTHERNER
Terry Bradshaw (Shreveport, Louisiana) A SOUTHERNER
Joe Buck (St. Louis, Missouri)<----- BORDERLINE NORTHERNER
Charles Davis (Tennessee) A SOUTHERNER
Matt Devlin (Syracuse, New York)<----NORTHERNER

Howie Long (Charlestown, Massachusetts)<----NORTHERNER

Jim Mora (Los Angeles, California)<---not a southerner
Tony Siragosa (Kenilworth, New Jersey)<-----NORTHERNER
Dick Stockton (New York)<-------NORTHERNER

Michael Strahan (Houston, Texas) A SOUTHERNER
Kurt Warner (Burlington, Iowa)<------NORTHERNER

Northerners in red, southerners in blue, other non-southerners in black.

Notice, just on these two networks, two of the four football networks, how much northerners dominate the industry, and then you tell me that I don't know where they're from? It's obvious. It comes out in their continuous hyping of northern teams at the expense of southern teams. Their constant talk of northern teams, but less talk of southern teams

I'll try to get the other two networks announcers and analysts.

Just with ABC and FOX, northerners outnumber southerners 13-4. Throw in the other non-southerners, and it's 16-4. That means, that southerners only represent 20 percent, far below the 34% of the nation of its population. By the way, the South is the most populated region of the country.

If I were to include the sideline reporters, it's even more lopsided.

Phil Simms (Lebanon, Kentucky) SOUTHERNER
Steve Tasker (Smith Center, Kansas)<-------not a southerner
Lesley Visser (Quincy, Massachusetts)<---------NORTHERNER
Solomon Willets (Los Angeles, California)<---------not a southerner

For NFL on CBS

16 NORTHERNERS
6 Other non-southerners
1 Southerner

Oh yeah, they're really not "northern", because they lost their accent. lol.
Biased reporting from an overly represented northern analyst group.

Don't know what this dude just said but I just want to say that I cant wait for the two AFC showdowns. So much bad blood between these rivals and the talk (or shirts) is just adding to the hype.

once again my picks

Jets over Pats (by a point)
Ravens over Steelers (close)
Packers over Falcons (close)
Bears over Seahawks (around a touchdown)

Default Ravens VS Pittsburgh

Our Flacco, who art in Pittsburgh,
we be yelling thy name,
thy Bowl will come,
it will be won,
in Dallas as it was in Missouri.
Give us this Saturday our weekly win,
and give us touchdown passes,
as we forgive the Steelers for trying to pass against us.
And lead us not into frustration, but deliver us to the Super Bowl.
For thine is the MVP, the purple & black, and the glory,
for ever and ever Amen.

This is all pointless, nobody cares if a team is from the South or the North. People pick the teams they think will win the game. There is no conspiracy theory. Not too many people have picked the Bears to do anything in the post season and they are in the North. The only reason people are picking them for this game is because they are playing the Seahawks. The only reason it why it seems like people pick North teams more often is because there are more teams in Northern states than in Southern states. Same thing goes for the Commentators and Sportscasters, there are more from the north because the population is higher in the North and most of the stations are located in New York City.
