Falcons fan here. I think that most Falcons fans knew that this had the potential to happen but we knew that it shouldn't have happened. That may not have been stated correctly but everyone knew what GB did to Philly and what the score could have been in the Eagles/Packers game.

At best most ATL fans had visions of a shootout but in the back of every Falcons fan's mind they knew that the offense had potential to stall (bad play calling/execution). ATL just didn't look ready. I'm a little disheartened because I've come to see that HOF means nothing in ATL. ATL fans were just looking for something and was live (whenever the team gave them something to cheer for) but Packer fans had a big presence too. Hardly an advantage but what can you do?

1)Defense is a huge priority
2)The offense is just the run game, butterfingers Roddy White, and Gonzalez. They have to get another capable receiver because those other stiffs just don't have it.

Makes you wonder how they'll be going forward with Gonzalez getting older and the potential loss of key coordinators.

I thnik that watchig the game shows why Falcons are a team of the future ;too yopung in playoffs. Ryan made some terrible decisions but he will get better most likely.

Believe the line favored the Falcons by 2. No doubt would have been more in favor of Atlanta if not for the bias of the Northern media.

Well when you are a number one seed, have the best rwcord in the NFC and bomb out to a wild card team, you might not get much respect. The South may rise agian some year just not this year.

The Packers are no joke. They had several losses due to their QB (maybe the best in the NFL) having concussion issues.

Frankly, it was a good year for Atlanta and if they figure out that defense is what really matters then they will be back. Otherwise they will be Minnesota.

The line opened at Atlanta -2, went up to -2.5 during the week, but lots of late Packer money closed it at -1.

I half-expected a Packer blowout. Atlanta wasn't as good as its record. They played the NFC West and Carolina- it was like being spotted 6 wins (just like New Orleans and Tampa- when 3 teams can sweep a group of teams, said group of teams isn't any good). Plus, Atlanta really didn't make many mistakes all year long (turnovers), but yet still struggled to win a lot of their games. Most top shelf teams win comfortably when they don't hurt themselves, but the Falcons often didn't. That's because they don't have much elite talent (and no, Matt Ryan is not elite) to blow people out.

Really, the talent level of these teams was the opposite of their records. Green Bay is the 13-win talent team, and the Falcons are more like a 10-win talent.

At least the Falcons GOT to the playoffs. Congrats to them. My Dolphins simply SUCK, sadly. Oh, and the Packers are really playing great football right now.

The media will give respect to East Coast teams that do well and the traditional powerhouse teams. In the end, it doesnt matter what they think. We are talking about the media that cover personal lives more than the games. The media that has a hard-on for Favre and Tim Tebow, it doesnt matter.

What matters is what happens on the field and Atlanta didnt execute.
