I think the idea, guys, is that the tickets are in fact sold out, but many of them wind up in the hands of brokerages, who then re-sell them for profit above face value. The idea is that THESE tickets, the way the sales are conducted, is going to be severely curtailed due to lower demand.

Secondary market = resale.

Ryan Lilja
Mike Peterson
Marcus Washington
David Thornton
Ken Dilger
Brandon Stokeley
Steve McKinney
Edgerrin James
Jake Scott

What do these players have in common?

Manning needs to consider retirement, immediately. You don't fool around with, or risk, further neck injuries. He's almost 36 , he's had a great career, there's nothing that he needs to hang around for..

Perhaps, but I can also understand him waiting to see how successful the surgery is in solving his issues, which should also allow him to analyze the risk of playing further.

Don't forget Jeff Saturday! He's been under center so long that him and Peyton Manning are practically engaged to each other.

LOL -- but Saturday is with the Colts. The list of names I provided are players who contributed significantly to the Colts at some point during the Manning era, yet they went to other teams and had productive careers. The one possible exception in that list is James. By the time he got to AZ he was on the downside of his career, but he did reach the Super Bowl with them.

The insinuation by some is that the Colts since 1998 have been Peyton Manning and a bunch of scrubs. My contention is that the Colts have now and have had many talented players not named Manning. Plus, the organization is headed by Bill Polilan, who built winners in Buffalo and Carolina (Panthers went to NFCCG with Collins in only their second season of existence) before coming to Indy. I just find it ludicrous to think that the Colts are headed toward some long-term downward spiral because of Manning's injury, career-ending or not. This franchise will adjust. This season may get ugly for all we know, or maybe not. But long-term, Indy will be fine.

I actually still have the Colts winning the division, so I completely agree with you. However, that prediction was made on Monday, and was predicated on my thinking at the time that Manning would be back for half the season. Hell, that still might be the case. I figured Kerry (Tom) Collins could generate 3-5 wins over the first 8 games.

I am not as high on Houston as others are, and the other two teams in the division are a few years from being competitive. No way Matt Hasselbeck is the answer in Tennessee, and the Jags are a 5 win team with McCown.

It's really a shame that this has happened to him because he is a fine player. Maybe he should consider retirement, I don't know.
