im not sure how this all works but someone said if both cowboys and giants win this weekend then the eagles are finished. that confuses me and why i made this thread. say the eagles, cowboys and giants all end up 8 and 8. eagles went 1 for 1 vs giants. eagles beat dallas once, if they beat dallas again wouldnt the eagles win the division?
also, since atlanta for sure has 1 wildcard, if either detroit or chicago win just 1 game the eagles have no chance at a wildcard?
Giant play Dallas last game. So if they both win this week one of them is going to get 9 wins. I also think the Eagles can lose and still be alive for the last wildcard spot.
The Eagles can at best finish 8-8
If they win out (beating the Jets, Cowboys & Redskins) they'll be 5-1 in the division which IIRC is first tiebreaker after head to head, so they beat the Giants (at best they'll be 4-2 in division) AND Cowboys (2-0 head to head if scenario above plays out).
Giants play Jets week 16, and Cowboys week 17. Even though both are at home (though the Jets game the Giants are the designated "road" team) I have a hard time seeing them win both those games. Hell with the Giants penchant for 2nd half choking, I wouldn't be in the least surprised see them lose to Washington this weekend.
ahhh that makes sense. i think giants beat washington at home. also i think dallas beats tampa away.
atlanta has 9 wins already and beat eagles so they get first wild card anyway because saints will get division.
so if chicago win just one game they wipe out any chance eagles have at getting second wild card? chicago beat eagles already so they get it by default since eagles can go 8-8 at most. detroit just one more game from 9 wins that also destroy eagles chance at second wild card?
i think i got it. eagles chances very slim if i understand this correctly.
