This is more a rant than anything. But in the last 5 weeks, this seems to be their 4th prime time national game.
On Week 8 They played an 8pm EST game against the Cheifs (Monday night)
On Week 10 they played a Thursday game against Oakland
On week 13 they played ANOTHER Monday night game against Jacksonville
And today Week 15, 12/18 they play another Sunday night game at 8pm EST against Baltimore
Last year they finished 9-7 and did not make the playoffs and they probably will not make it this year. SO what's the deal? I feel like I've been watching their games for a month now.
It probably is because the talking heads expected them to compete. In the AFC West, their is a school of thought that they are the most talented team. Thus, that is supposed to equal a playoff team. Plus, I am sure there is a group of people that love to see Phillip Rivers play.
Now that I think of it, at the beginning of the season, which West Coast team do you think would be the most likely to be TV-friendly?
San Diego?
San Francisco?
Seattle?
Oakland?
Heck, even throw in Arizona, and that is a pretty ugly hand. Now granted, we know SF has been good, and Oakland competitve, but in April, who thought that?
They were a lot of people's favorite to win the AFC this year, that's why. Plus, they have an explosive offense or at least they should with the talent they have and that sells.
this is consistently a Cowboy problem more then any other team, year after year they are on my tv more then every other team not named the Panthers (my hometown team)
1/2 the time they are the 4:00 national game and the other half they're a prime time game, and yet they have 1 playoff win since 1996.
The Cowboys and the rest of the NFC east are over hyped every year.

This is true. I reside in the East Coast (nyc) so I'm always fine with watching a division team playing whom ever, normally because I sit back hoping that they will lose. But in all fairness, the Cowboys national games are a clear product of NFL politics, major network broadcasting, and a huge sum of money.
By the end of a total of 16 Regular Season games, the Cowboys will have played 11 National games and only 5 locally broadcasted games. Which is insane for a team that hasn't won the SB in nearly 15 years. I hadn't even noticed that.
