Well, if you add 50,000 more people going out to watch the game you're going to see more alcohol related accidents.

It's the same concept as to why you see less accidents on the road at 5 a.m. versus 5 p.m. More traffic equals more accients.

I'm not saying they shouldn't have it on Saturday simply because of that issue.
On a typical Saturday night. Those that are partying for the Superbowl will do it regardless of the night.

Just my opinion. I'm sure there is data to support the Saturday vs. Sunday auto accidents.

No need for a Sat SB, Superbowl Sunday could fall on MLK Monday Holiday, Goodell just received a contract extension and is sure to revisit the 18 game schedule. I personally like the idea of an 18 game schedule which would cancel 2 of those worthless exhibition games.

I prefer a good, old-fashioned Sunday afternoon game. Even in my early adulthood -- way back in the 80s -- the game began around 3:30 or 4 Eastern time. When I was a kid, Mom would serve dinner (we ate at 6 come hell or high water) during the fourth quarter.

I barely make it to halftime. The game -- more like an event than an actual sporting event these days -- is rarely interesting enough to keep me awake for the whole thing.
