I understand the problems with traffic and all, apparently that's why they put'em in NJ, but come on! Can't they play in Yonkers or something? It doesn't have to be in NYC, but it should be within the NY state boundaries. I can't believe that nobody in NY is able to finance building a stadium for their home teams, especially since Giants is a winning team. It should be this or the the teams should be renamed as NJ Giants and NJ Jets so the claim of ownership dispute between NY and NJ would cease to exist. I realize Metlife stadium is within NYC metro area, but it's still another state and there is too much rivalry between NY and NJ just to settle on it like that. What you think?
I don't think it matters much. People in North Jersey would still be fans of NY football teams. Just like people in South Jersey are Eagles fans. Who else are they going to be fans of?
The teams represent the New York metropolitan area. This includes much of NJ, parts of NY State, much of CT, and very little of PA. Just like the Patriots belong to the New England area.

Is that something that was officially said by the team reps or an opinion?
Both teams used to play in NYC. I assume they were priced out or found a sweet deal in Jersey. The Jets wanted to go back just a few seasons ago but the idea didn't pan out with New Yawk.
Do you understand how hard it is to get a stadium built? There is no construction project more difficult to fund and find land for. You have to take what you can get.
