Patriots are now 8-0 on the road for the second time during the last 16 seasons. Over that same 16 season stretch, they've won 6 or more road games 9 times. Nice to get a win down in Miami which they've had issues with. They are now 8-8 in Miami in the last 16 seasons.

Just finished a good read, Belichick and Brady (Holley).

Book basically covers the last 15 years of Patriot football. The author (Michael Holley), admits to initially being a (pre-New England era) critic of Belichick.. but gives Belichick & Brady a fair (and at times favorable) accounting.
Lots of detail, covering regular season wins & losses, player personalities & free agency movement.. insights in to Brady & Belichick's professionalism, ambitions, football lineages. Some personal, off-field stories as well (Aaron Hernandez arrest, etc).

I read a nice hardcover version, and recommend it to all NFL fans, not just Patriot partisans.

So opening line has Patriots favored by 16.5 over Houston....

As an added benefit Pittsburgh and Kansas City get to beat each other up for the right to come to Foxboro...

Any given Sunday and all that but for Pats fans this playoffs couldn't have gone any better in terms of matchups

I don't care who the Pats play. Right now I only care about the Texans.

In my opinion the Patriots are the best team in the league and should win the Super Bowl. I am a firm believer in Any Given Sunday, but aside from that, there is no team that should beat the Pats.

Take nothing for granted. Remember back in 2012 after the Pats went 14-2 they lost to the Jets at home in a game most people thought would be an easy win for New England? Houston is more than capable of coming in and getting a win. Their defense is playing great and they have weapons on offense.

It would be shocking. But yeah, Any Given Sunday. I just can't see Houston doing enough offensively.

The key was the Carr injury. Not that the Raiders would have gone in and beat the Pats in the divisional round. But it certainly would have been more of a test than what Houston may provide. Before the Carr injury it was setting up that each team that had a bye would be tested in their first game by a pretty good football team in Pittsburgh and either K.C./Oakland.

Their defense is over rated and what weapons exactly do they have on offense? They are hardly " more than capable " of coming into Foxboro and getting a win. It would in fact be one of the more shocking outcomes in NFL history...

I would put my money on the Pats but don't underestimate Texan's D. They can do just enough to make it a game. Brock played reasonably well against Raiders so Pats D need to make plays. Maybe Butler can get a pick or 2 from Oz or force a fumble. Pats D need to pressure Oz and get him off track.
