Any word on Bret Bielema still being on staff with the Patriots? I ask because he used to coach the Badgers and then got fired at Arkansas. Belichick hired him as a personal consultant but never announced it as official, only that “he’s a good fit and people like him.”

Nice win by the true GOAT....tired of all the pre game hype trying to prop up the other guy who shouldn't even be in the conversation for GOAT.

Patriots on a nice run here, if we can get Michel and Gronk healthy got like our chances for making another deep run in the playoffs....

7-2. The Pats continue to find ways to beat their opponents despite themselves. Another game where 31 pts felt like it should have been 52.

So Brady caught a pass from Julian Edelmann today that went for six yards.

That makes Brady 2nd all-time in NFL history for most receiving yards after turning 40. In fact, he's only the third NFL player ever to catch a pass in his 40s. The others are Brett Favre (who caught a pass for -2 yards the day after his fortieth birthday) and Jerry Rice (who, not surprisingly, caught over 150 passes for more than 2000 yards in his 40s - and if that's not yet another testament to Rice's greatness, I don't know what is).

Tom Brady - elderly pass-catcher extraordinaire!

I've seen the Pats play some pretty bad games in this era. The loss to the Titans was probably the most complete loss I have seen. From the opening kickoff, the Pats never recovered. The game was lost right there on the first play of the game, and that was that. Hopefully the bye will do the team some good.

I disagree with you in that the Pats ride a high horse. They certainly do not. That might be the perspective of "outsiders", but in following this tream since 1975, and for the entire current dynasty run, I have NEVER heard this team speak from a high horse place. They win, and the next day they simply start planning for the next game. No cockiness, no over confidence, no looking past teams. This game was simply a poor effort from coaching to execution on the field. Oh yeah, the Titans on the other hand were coached well and executed.

I know people take the Lions' and Titans' losses to heart, but you have to think about the fact they are both coached by former Patriots. They have a good idea of the system and what to expect. If you were facing your former employer after acquiring your own business, wouldn't you want to make the best showing possible?

I don't think anyone expected the Jaguars to be where they are right now, but that's football. Anything can happen.

I had a different theory that I posted on the pick ĎEm thread maybe they threw Vrabel a bone and threw the game for him. I know for homefield against the Chiefs and Steelers it maybe a big deal, but I donít think Bill or Brady really fear going to either of those 2 places. And itís not like they need many wins to beat out Moe, Larry & Curly, the other 3 stooges in the division. No way they should have lost by that much.

It's concerning (temporarily right now) in how bad this game was. We were blown out by the Chiefs a few years ago, but that game felt different. From every single angle, from waterboy to Brady, we simply looked overmatched and inept. 10 pts on offense and giving up 34 pts on defense? No answer, no 2nd half adjustments (that worked if any were made) - it was the most complete loss I have seen this team have. It honestly looked like a game where we were the Jets/Bills/insert other historically crappy team here.
