Had this game on the radio (CBS Westwood One coverage) while watching Steelers/Ravens and flip flopping the Bucs/Saints game.

Broadcaster Howard David hit it on the head near the end of the first half when he remarked "the Pats are having their way with Jacksonville's defense in every way imaginable". Welker comes in with 13 catches, his final season stats ought to be HUGE on receptions. 35-7 final, the Pats could have scored a lot more, sounds like.

This team beats up on mediocore talent and struggles against good teams. I hope they can win at least 1 in the playoffs. I love my Pats but I am a realist.

I am your typical optimistic cheerleader type , but I do understand your stand as well.

He could be out most of next season also. And whats worse is for a player like him who relys so much on being quick and shifty this injury could change his career for ever.

OUT for this and most of next. He has a torn ACL & MCL. Thats not an easy injury to come back from if your the type of player he is. Quick cuts and shiftiness.... could be a long recovery for Wes.

What's Welker's contract situation? Any chance they cut him loose if he is unable to preform until the 2011-12 season?

Dont think so. He is like Brady in New England, they will wait it out with him. He is a 4.5 M cap it in 2011 and about 4.23 M in 2010. With 2010 being an uncapped year I dont think it will matter much.
