I have never seen that many youngsters in a Bill Belechick defense. Banta-Cain, Bodden and Wilfork are probably the "senior citizens" on the starting core. We have a ton of young DB's, they need to produce this year. Chung, McCourty, Wilhite, Wheatley, Mariweather, Butler, McGowan, Sanders..... they have a bunch of players, question is which ones become play makers?
Along with the youth of their DB's, health is always a concern with that position. I think Meriweather has done a pretty good job, and Chung needs to show he is "getting" it this year, and I think he will. Welker and his mini-me, although Julian is about an inch taller, are going to put up some numbers. Going to be an interesting year.

Valid concern, but from what I hear, he is a maniac in the gym. That could help him out with his recovery, but with the way he cuts and zags on the field, that knee will be tested early and often. Man we need him, even if he's 85-90%. He'll be fine..........damn nice to have football back!!

If that was a 75% Welker last night, I'll take it.

Yeah Welker looked great. Brady looked good but needs to get his accuracy back. Fredy taylor looked like a beast. Hernandez the rookie looked impressive. The defense is questionable though.

Defensivley they looked pretty good. They held the saints and falsons 1st stringers to a total of 6 pts. Now thats not to say thats the top notch effort those teams will display all year but its a good way to start. That said they are also playing without Bodden at CB so they have started McCourty who has played pretty good football. Time will tell, but I think this young DEF will surprise some people, especially Brandon Spikes.

I was at the game and Welker looked pretty good. He was only in for a few early plays, but he looked good.

I think Welker will be fine, and ready to go when the season starts.
