I don't want to believe that the Hoodie is fazing him out of most of the playbook, but it sure does look that way. Now that Hernandez is out for a bit, they need Welker.

9.5 million dollars is a lot to pay someone you are phasing out. Makes you wonder why they even franchised him in the first place if that was the plan.

I would tend to agree, just an odd situation which vexes me..........I'm terribly vexed.

If you put a gun to my head I would say the FG was good. It is so incredibly close. And for the record it was not reviewable.

ball seems to clear the top of the upright by about 12" and on the "good" half of the post. Even so, as the kick was moving at a pretty sharp angle to the outside, its pretty tough to say where it passed over the top of the goal post given the camera angles provided.

the rule states: "The entire ball must pass through the vertical plane of the goal, which is the area above the crossbar and between the uprights or, if above the uprights, between their outside edges.

therefore, if any part of the ball passes outside the outside edge than the kick should be viewed as no-good.

Just watched the video...looked like the kick was good. Sorry, but it did not look as tough to decide as other are saying. The field goals used to be the Pats best friends, now it seems that they are the worst.

I think the kick was good.. It looked close on the replay but it appeared to me to be inside the goal post before it crossed...
i know the refs missed a lot but its hard to miss those... If you want to argue the PI, or holding calls.. go ahead... but i don't think the refs missed this one..
The Ref was standing right there looking up.. if he had not been a replacement, this would not be a conversation.
