I think the logic here is that they have to pay either Seymour or Wilfork and Wilfork is of more value. Seymour hasnt been dominant in a few years like he used to be. He is a free agent this year and if he walks at years end they get nothing for him. They got a 1st in 2011 which is 2 years away but I dont see that as a huge problem. As the saying in Patriot Nation goes, in BILL we trust!
People said he was dumb when he cut Lawyer Milloy too.... who knew.
A little surprising, but maybe I shouldn't be. He is a 5 time pro bowler, and being 29 still has a few more years left in him. Still, a first rounder is a first rounder, and as it is the Raiders pick, the Patriots will be picking in the top 5, I would imagine.
Speaking of this trade, I'm reading in this mornings local paper is that Richard Seymour has not reported to the Raiders camp yet. Anyone know of what is up w/ that?
Too bad Seymour is going to the place where careers go to die.
It wasn't always this way with the Raiders. They were quite good at reclamation projects for decades. Wouldn't exactly put Seymour in that category however.
