Do you think the Broncos would have been in a better position had the team not won all those games and made the playoffs last year?

Let me preference this: If they had not won those games after Tebow took over last year Manning more than likely would not have considered the Broncos a landing spot. In addition, they probably would have been in a position to draft Luck or RG3.

So if you are a Broncos fan... or if you were, would you prefer to have Manning for these 2-4 years or have Luck/RG3 for 5-10 years?

Quite honestly, I would take Manning for 2-4 years every time. Simply put there is no guarantee with Luck or RGIII. Either one could be the next Tim Couch, Akili Smith, Ryan Leaf, Jamarcus Russell, etc. I would take the guy who has proven he can win in the NFL, even if his goods were slightly damaged when he got to me.

Luck and RG3 are not proven. They could be the next Ryan Leif. And even if they are good you are not guaranteed anyone for that long. They could leave after their rookie contracts.

Just look at the Houston Texans and this offseason. Mario Williams, Demeco Ryans, Eric Winston, same draft class, all gone this year. Now somewhat self-inflicted but still no guarantees. Also, the Broncos could draft a rookie QB this year to groom while Manning plays.

Just in case anyone is missing this...

This is the position the Colts were in... And we know their choice.

Actually he isn't "proven" at all. He hasn't played in a year, so there will be rust, plus he was declining his last year with the Colts, before all the neck surgeries. He threw a lot of uncharacteristic INTs that year, many of them due to fading arm strength. They would have been better off going after Matt Flynn or even sticking with Tebow. All options are a question mark, but Manning costs a fortune and handicaps the organization in a huge way if he doesn't pay off.

I think in the back of Peytons mind was the fact that a blatantly average or worse QB named Tebow was able to get the Broncos to the 2nd round of the playoffs. So how much better would they be with him? Playing in a fairly weak division also helps the cause.

Manning is about as proven as RG3 is. I would rather bet on RG3 or Luck than have Manning get hit by Vilma (oops) and out for the season/career.

The broncos are a bad team . Some players are good or getting good but I don't think HRH Manning will take them anywhere . Other than Decker ( recovering ,from surgery ) or Thomas . Who will be catching the wonderful passes ? Its easy for other teams to defend against the pass when you have 3 targets . Who is running the ball ? (Marshawn Lynch/not)
The Defence is one injury away from bad .
I think they are 5 years out from good.
