Donovan McNabb took a shot at Redskins coaching tandem Mike and Kyle Shanahan on Thursday, saying their egos would get in the way of star quarterback Robert Griffin III's success in Washington.
That's about as harsh as I have heard McNabb get. Must be bitter about the DC experiment.
The NFL is a "what have you done for me lately?" league and it's been 13 years since Shanahan did anything remarkable. If RG3 can't lead the 'Skins to the promised land, it may be the curtain call for Mike Shanahan's coaching career.
McNabb also said the reason he failed in Washington was because they didn't use him properly. I wonder what his excuse is for Minnesota and his last few years in Philly?
I am a lifelong Redskins fan and not a McNabb fan.... and I think he has a point! Shanahan seems to be a jack, his son has no merit for his job other than riding his daddy's coat tail and it was Shanahan who endorsed the trade to get a QB who in his words didn't have the cardiovascular fitness to finish the last 2 minutes of a game they could win...
Washington under Dannny Boy Snyder= Raiders East! They're as disfunctional as it gets... And I ain't drinking the Shanahan and Bruce Allen koolaid.. At least not yet! Just sayin!
I do agree that a good rookie can be doomed by a bad team but there are many parts to that not just coaching .owner etc.
