Ex-NFL Draft bust Ryan Leaf arrested

Leaf was booked on felony charges of burglary of a residence and criminal possession of dangerous drugs, plus a first-time charge of misdemeanor theft, Cascade County Detention Center Officer Robert Rivera said.

...
Leaf has struggled with fame and drug problems, and Friday was not the first time he was arrested on drug and burglary charges.

In 2008, when Leaf was a quarterbacks coach for Division II West Texas A&M, he was accused of burglarizing a player's home. An investigation turned up that Leaf had obtained nearly 1,000 pain pills from area pharmacies in an eight-month span.

Hopefully he will grow up one of these days.

Wow.. This is shocking to me because I just heard him on a sportstalk radio show a few months ago talking about his new book and his battle against drug addiction and how he had cleaned up blah blah blah.. It was actually a great interview and he sounded very sincere and honest about himself and seemed to have cleaned up! I guess not!

A million dollar arm and a ten cent brain.

I remember his career at Washington State, then in the 1998 draft he was drafted right after Peyton Manning. Then he alienated fans and the media right off the get go. Every cable and network sports commentator has Leaf near or at the top as the biggest bust as a player in NFL history.

I remember four years ago on HBO's Real Sports With Brian Gumbel having done a 20 minute segment on him while he was at West Texas A&M To Leaf's credit he was asked tough questions but answered them without hesitation. The thing about that interview I remember the most was him admitting "I wasn't as good as people thought regarding NFL potential. I just didn't have it."

Very sad story.

Default Busted again today!

Moron was arrested again today for committing ANOTHER burglary & pill theft right after he bonded out of jail.

Lock him up and never let him out because there's no cure for stupid.

It is very clear that Leaf is an addict in the worst way. While he is serving any jail time, I would hope that he has access to some drug treatment so he can break his addiction.

Does this mean he doesn't have any of his $30 Million left over from his initial contract? Yeah, I feel real sorry for him too.
