there is still the defending superbowl champs out there. in case you missed it The one guy known by Peyton did pretty well for only playing 1 full half. and put up 44 on a team that came very close to defeating those pats. So if you are wise in any way you will not count out those boys from Naptown
Its to bad that the pats will only go 16 and 0 then lose in the playoffs. At least they will tie those dolphins from '72. Again sry patsfan that is all that you have to look forward to
You guys barely held out against Detroit, and we're supposed to be impressed? Everyone knows the Pats are a better team, and Indy got lucky last year by finally beating NE to the Bowl. The Pats didnt even overwhelm a mediocre Bears team. Im impressed with the Pats, not with the Colts, sorry.
Thats what i like to here steve-o you fans that count out the boys from nap town. And that is a great thing we have been counted out for years. and dont worry when COLTS and pats meet up in the champ game it will be a shoot out and the colts will prevail again and again. So just keep lookin in that rearview mirror and we are right on your tail.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Indy has not played Detroit since November 25th 2004 which they won 41-9, so I'm not sure what you're talking about.
Then, you type, "The Pats didn't even overwhelm a mediocre Bears Team" I'm confused now dude, I think you meant, "the Colts didn't even overwhelm a mediocre Bears team". If that's what you meant, then you're referring to the SuperBowl, which the Colts won very convincingly, by 12 points and the Bears were more than just "mediocre", they only had 3 losses during the regular season and in the play-offs beat the Seahawks and the Saints to make it to the Bowl, so I'd say they were a great team. And if you look at the Stats from the Superbowl, the Colts dominated them, especially considering the fact that one of their TDs came from the opening kickoff.
If you want to hate the Colts, hate them but don't use baseless stats and excuses. The Colts are a great team as are the Patriots as were the 2006 Bears.

Indy luckily came back from 21-3. Yeah, that's luck. Nothing to do with New England being outplayed.
Colts didn't overwhelm the Bears in the Superbowl? They won by 12 points. The Patriots have never won by more than a field goal and have never convincingly controlled a superbowl the way Indy did the Bears.
Patriots barely beat the Ravens who basically gave the Patriots the game, and Indy beat the Ravens so badly that Manning was done playing for the night before the 3rd quarter was over.
I'm a Packer fan, so I'm not all that concerned with who wins the AFC, but overall, the only thing I see the Patriots doing more impressively than anyone else is maintaining that -0 in their record. If they can put a 19 in from of the -0, that will mean a lot more, until then, they are still the team that has to knock off the defending champs.
come on tnbound preach it very well put but it is all about the pats in this forum but that is ok i will be laughing when peyton is holding the trophy again

Woah, I made a mistake. I dont know what I was thinking, but I was thinking about the Cowgirls, not Indy. hahahahaha Yikes. Im a hockey fan, can you tell?
Anyways, NE is a better team, its hard to argue that. Theyve had Indy's number for several years and probably will continue to do so. Theyve proven it in several AFC Championship games, and also in regular season. Indy is a superb team, dont get me wrong, but I just think NE is better, simple as that. Stats dont lie.
As for the Bears? Did you not watch the season? Let me tell you this: NFC North sucks. No doubt we're a weak division. Competition here isnt exactly what you call stellar. Anyways, Super Bowl appearance or not, I didnt think the Bears were all they were cracked up to be. Offense sucked. Royally. Special Teams and defense were what got us to the Bowl, and luckily at that. This was NOT the 84-85 Bears like people think they were. We had a good season no doubt, but alot of it was sloppy, unlike Indy. Want a refresher? We won against the Niners, the Pack, DET, MN (barely), STL, etc. Ooooh, ahhhh. No biggie there. Seriously, look at those teams and try not to laugh. Then we lose to the Dolphins (our seemingly strange achilles heal) hardcore, barely beat the super sucky Jets, NE, and then barely beat DET and then lose bad to GB (at Soldier Field). Dont forget about the Cards and how they almost beat us too. Then SEA comes to town and we won by a long Gould FG in OT. We dispatched NO easily, but other than that, the whole season I was nervous and not overly confident, which just goes to show that they werent that good IMO. The win by Indy in the Bowl was a given, although Hester did get me screaming after the opening KO.
and even though I'm not a Pats fan, I've got to admit, they look pretty darned "smooth" / very fluid. not a Moss fan either, though i like him better than 'ole "Sharpe Boy" T.O.
OK - so i'm not a Dallas fan either.
The Pats are not unbeatable ... a few teams have come close, only to choke in the end.
