Football was a demo sport back in 1932.

There's a reason why it didn't come back....

Now they're going to take these players to the Olympics right when Training Camp would be set to open and have them exert themselves by playing full contact Football? I think not!

There's no possible way that any NFL or NCAA team would allow their players to participate in the Olympics and risk injury. It would never happen.
I doubt the players would want to put more wear on their bodies and risk their salaries back in the states anyway.
