Houston is playing the Redskins this weekend - the graphic on CSN Houston showed a blank maroon helmet.
They still say the name "Redskins" on CSN Philly. We play them too often to not say their team's name.

Nope. But since I'm half Scandinavian maybe I should be "offended" by my home team, the Vikings', name? Afterall, that's just making us Scandinavians out to be a bunch of barbaric animals, isn't it?

Maybe Irishmen should be "offended" by the "offensive" nature of the Notre Dame "Fighting Irish" thuggish disposition?

Mike Ditka is right. This crap is just silliness at this point.

Seriously ALL OF A SUDDEN....this name is "offensive"?

Wasn't "offensive" five years ago, nor 10, 15 or 20 years ago. Nope...NOW the name is "offensive".

Enough from the political correctness nannies!

I'll believe that Native American names are totally offensive when every single Native American tribe in America marches on Washington (a la MLK), and they'll also need to include EVERY Native American name in ALL American sports as being offensive.

Until then, this whole "Redskins" name scrutiny is nothing more than political hogwash, and nanny-politics gone haywire.

FCC Chairman is now weighing in and declares the name "Redskins" as offensive. Before long the threat of and eventual issuance of heavy fines and threat of broadcast license revocations will lead to the name no longer being uttered over the vast gov't controlled air waves...maybe even being added to offensive and banned words on City Data Forum...

FCC Chairman says 'Redskins' name should go
