I'm offended by anyone who feels offended by being offended.

Its not without irony that those who think that these cartoonish logos somehow "honor" the NA's, this represents the maximum extent that they are willing to bestow torwards these people.

As a person 'of color,' I don't find that offensive.

I am offended that RGIII doesn't get me more fantasy points.

He is generally the #1 or #2 QB in fantasy. You must be offended easily.

The Minneapolis Star Tribune won't even print it. They say "Washington's NFL Team" LOL.

Is it any worse than the "Fighting Irish" of Notre Dame? Maybe. If the Redskins changed their name, I would understand - but I would draw the line there. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Braves or the Indians. We already have the Vikings, the Cowboys, the Buccaneers . . . etc. These people groups/occupations/crimes were picked because they were either tough, honorable, or just mean. This is what football looks for in their moniker/mascot. Nothing derogatory about the Braves or Indians. And it doesn't matter what the NA's have to say about it as I'm sure no one consulted the Scandinavian population about using The Vikings or the cowboys about using Cowboys. I think most NA's find it acceptable to use names like the Braves.

yea its offensive... period.

But its not going to change. So it's rather pointless to debate. Too much branding and thus money is involved with that organization. And they are not public... they can do what they want. if people dont like it they do not have to watch them.

Incidently.... any team with an "ethnic" nickname is offensive. So the Chiefs, Braves, and Indians are as well. But Redskins is just the worse.

I would hate for there to be a team in the future called the Atlanta "Colored" or "Negroes"... so its just not cool.

As this post proves, some people are insulted by anything and take Political Correctness to a WHOLE new level. It's a reason to complain, plain and simple. MANY sports teams were named after Indian tribes/names etc. It was never an issue until people realized the can sue and cry and whine and line their pockets which is all it's about in the end. Just like the White people who refuse to call Black people black. Because ASSUMING that everybody with black skin is a desendent of Africa knowing how many Black countries their are...NO that's not racist in itself! "There all the same I guess". Political Correctness NEEDS TO GO! All it does is create whining sniveling crybabies.
