Steve Spurrier says Alabama Crimson Tide can beat NFL teams - ESPN

I know he didn't mean it 'cause I don't think 'Bama can even touch Jacksonville or Kansas City, let alone better NFL teams.

I'd give Alabama three touchdowns against KC.

Well Spurrier wouldn't know anything about beating NFL teams so I'm not sure I trust his judgement on this.

I think Charles meant Alabama +21 against KC.

Yes, Give Alabama a three touchdown lead to start the game, then play. That's what I meant.

I like South Carolina and I like Steve Spurrier, but that's the dumbest thing he's ever said.

Jax, KC...would DESTROY alabama.

I'd give Alabama a trip inside the red zone and a possibly Field goal attempt against Kansas City since their 1 of the worst teams I have ever seen. That Lions team that went winless would beat this Chiefs team by 2 or more TDs.
Against Jacksonville I'd give Alabama 1 attempt at a very long field goal (talking 50+ yards).
Against the other 30 NFL teams, Alabama wouldn't even come close to crossing midfield.

Even the worst team in NFL history (08 Lions most likely) was filled with college stars and all those college stars had only gotten better since theyve gotten into the NFL. The 2008 Detroit Lions would still beat Alabama by atleast 5 touchdowns. The only way a college team would have a chance is if every starting player was an NFL caliber player and every starting player was having a heisman like season. The difference between college and the NFL is just too big. There might be some really good high school teams that could beat some D3 college teams though.
