The games have not been to compelling and I kind of like having all the games on Sunday (except the last couple weeks). Maybe if there were better games I'd be more interested. Or maybe if they just went back and let the smaller colleges play on Thursday I'd like that more.
I refuse to pay for NFL Network, so I'd rather the game be played on Sunday.
Also, this portends an increase of games in the future, if more subscribe to the NFL Network. When the NFL charges subscription rates on cable to view their games (and keeps the bombardament of commercials to boot) that is the day I stop watching. The Thursday game, IMO is a trial balloon being launched by NFL to see if more money could be made by turning the TV experience into subscription-based viewing.
The games are usually bad matchups... So I dont care to watch them.
But I think it is smart of the NFL to put bad matchups on when they are the only game on so they have more exposure. Normally there are not as many people watching the bad games. So the NFL has taken one of there lowest rated products (bad games) and turned into a decent revenue sources.
$$$ from NFL network from cable subscribers and advertisers. Gotta admire a business like that..
Chances I have multiple players either on my teams or my opponents team in FF from these games is 100%.
Honestly, I think FF is the great equalizer these days. Do I care at all about Miami vs. Buffalo? Not in the slightest. But I still watch with great interest to see how individual players perform.
And I will say that half way through the season I am still not "burned out" yet. Maybe in a few more weeks I won't care as much, but I still just enjoy watching football regardless of who is playing.
