should this be in sports forum? maybe, but yesterday after watching the great extended game on TV I wondered what a pro player eats the day of a game to be able to be so active hour after hour. Surely they can't have traditional gut busting Turkey day meal at noon if they are playing at 8 p.m.

Anybody know the answer?

We usually hit the carb's hard early before a game. But I didn't play pro sports and we didn't exactly follow all the "rules" before a game.

My former manager who played college ball at UConn ate bananas before the game/practices to prevent cramps.

I doubt there is one answer. Each player is different and figures out what works for them.

I could be wrong but I thought meals before a game were rather team controlled. I know Packers stay at a local hotel even prior to home games. I think that is where I read about the menu, too.
