Sure, the Eagles being solid was a safe bet, but the Panthers? Philly's usually-rowdy crowd is so sparse and quiet you could hear a pin drop in the stadium.

They were hoping people would want to see Mike Vick vs Cam Newton, though that match up sounded a lot more entertaining before the season started.

Yup. People thought Carolina would be an up and coming type team with an exciting QB, and the Eagles were supposed to be SB contenders (though I never bought that).

While this game was bad, just look at the other prime time games...Didnt we just have a 1 win KC team have back to back prime time games? Ouch. I dislike flex scheduling from a paying fans POV, but I totally get why the NFL has it.

The NFL was thinking these would be two exciting teams to watch in playoff contention. As often is the case in life, things didn't turn out how they thought. It happens.

yep, it's that simple.

NFL was hoping for the "Dream Team" Eagles vs the Rookie of the Year.

Late in the season there are "flex" games, but that's only for Sunday Night Football. I believe MNF is off limits for flex.

I guess I don't understand "flex"! I get that MNF is one game, set when schedule is done so no change likely. GB has a game against the Lions that won't be flexed according to their website. I would prefer an afternoon game instead of night.

Yeah, the Dream Team handle won't die for a very long time. Will be interesting to see where the team goes from here.
