NFL Football wouldn't do this during the college football season, because it would take away from coverage of that. Secondly, the NFL does show Saturday games toward the end of the season - at least they have in past seasons.

I can watch literally 25 different college games on saturday, many of which turn out to be blowouts, so why not one pro game?

just because? that's not an answer. it's 2012
No. I do not want the product watered down more than it already has been. Players seem to have a hard time making it through a 16 game season as it is. It would be foolish to lengthen the season. Hey, I'm probably one of the biggest football fans you'll ever meet, but there IS a such thing as too much of a good thing.

yeah, that's really hurt the popularity of college basketball and college football, ratings for MLB are up, the MLS is practically the third most popular sport now and growing every month and it's season is March thru November.

try again

oh, and 2 days a week isn't the "appeal" of NFL, it's the game itself, I'm not asking to add games or teams to the (PO) schedule

I'm against adding more teams to the league period because there is a shortage of quality players.
Maybe Roger cant do anything on his own but he sure is for the owners. He's proven that time and again.
As for more teams in the playoffs, there could be something to the post about teams like the Cowboys and Eagles not getting there. Lurie and Jones both have money and power.

Its sad that its all about business and not enough about the game these days.

You know that's what it is, both of those franchises are popular and will be out of the playoffs for the second season in a row and that angers the owners and makes the league seem fixed which is why I won't watch anymore if there are 16 teams in the playoffs

So NFL fans didn't look forward to sundays because of the sport only being on twice a week? Anything that is not always easily available is always going to be more attractive and popular which explains why I love the NFL more than the NBA.

With the attempt of Goodell trying to turn the play off system to that of the NBA, we will be seeing teams with 8-8, 7-9, maybe even 6-10 records in the first week end games. It may be a good thing for the teams that make it to the gravy train. The stadiums selling $7 cups of ice tea are looking forward to it. And who doesn't enjoy the 4 commercials during an 'injury' time out.
Millions of dollars get tossed around between the teams/owners/NFL/NBC-CBS-FOX-ESPN but we end up paying for it with the next cable bill rate increase. [ESPN is the most expensive channel your cable system carries]
