Look at Jamie Foxx hiding behind "killing white people" in his movie as cool.

Samuel L Jackson saying he voted for Obama because he's black.

Harry Belafonte saying for Obama jail all Republicans.....(code for white)

And they've gotten no blow back except for conservatives.

Two totally different levels, that armor comment was a racial slur and was on the ESPN website for almost an hour. I saw it myself that night and was like "WHOA". That was a blatant try at being funny by somebody working the grave yard shift at ESPN.com. The comment Rob Parker made is stupid but he didn't really call a RG3 a racial slur. All he really did was give his opinion of RG3 which in effect he basically just called him corny. And to be honest he was probably telling the truth from the perspective of the demographic he was talking about, RG3 does come off as kind of a 'lame' or a 'square', and to be honest I have heard both white and black dudes say that. His whole swag from the hair to the socks just comes off as Bama. But at the end of the day is that really that bad? He is still a beast on the field. And he seems like a really good dude.

Announce the plays and spare us the political garbage

He didn't just say RG3's a blerd (black nerd), he questioned RG3's "blackness" ... is he down with the cause? he's got a white fiance, he may be a Republican, etc.
Heck, you know you went over the line when Stephen A Smith became the voice of reason.

Honestly, how many people do you know that decided to take time out of their day to comment on RGIII as "lame" or "square"? How would one even make this determination? I guess he's not legit unless he's fighting dogs, right?

I'm not one to call for a firing because someone made a dumb comment but ESPN has a history of such firings and should operate on a level playing field. Had Parker been white this thread would not exist as a "should be fired" thing because it would have happened almost immediately.

No he didn't say a racial slur but you aren't understanding that what he said was completely out of line. What he said was personal. Regardless of his personal opinion of RG3 and his "blackness", it had nothing to do with the point that was being made. He made a personal attack on someone that he clearly has a personal issue with. In no form of journalism should making a personal attack be acceptable because the integrity and credibility of your ability to do your job goes out the window.

ESPN went down the tubes the moment Rich Eisen left for the NFL network.

The 11:00 PM Sportscenters featuring a combination of Rich Eisen/Dan Patrick/Stuart Scott/and Kenny Mayne was the height of ESPN.

Once Eisen left, Stuart Scott was never the same, they demoted Kenny Mayne for some reason, Patrick left a few years later and the rest is history. The last full episode of Sportscenter I watched was 5.5 years ago. Even at a hotel I will NEVER watch Sportscenter in the morning its gotten that bad.

Done.

Rob Parker Let Go By ESPN

"Rob Parker's contract expired at year's end. Evaluating our needs and his work, including his recent RG III comments, we decided not to renew his deal."

He has no one to blame but himself.
