I think there are some "bad" rules right now that are causing uncertainty.

The defenseless receiver / personal foul rule comes to mind. How many times is this called in a game now where maybe it should'nt have been called and maybe the hit was just a great hit?

How about the hit from Pollard on Ridley? People have said he should've been flagged, but wasn't that a legal hit?

The NFL IMO needs to get some clarity on some of the rules (to take it out of the refs hands so to speak)

How many times have you seen a ref wait to see if a pass is completed and when it's not he throws a flag? It looks like he was determined the keep the drive alive and that's is my main issue with the NFL right now.

Or when the "Defenseless" receiver lowers his head into the tackler at the time of the tackle resulting in a penalty for the tackler...how is the tackler suppose to avoid that.

Noone, with the exception of USA Today, is talking about the Brady "spike" of Ed Reed.
That was a dirty Ndomakung Suh type of play that should've been flagged.

Looks legal to me ... the tackler was going low, but Ridley lowered his head and initiated the helmet-to-helmet contact.

Yes. Initially I really thought it was a accident until I saw another angle...looked intentional to me. I was surprised that somehow they didn't try to call ed for it somehow. ( of course that is the part of me that thanks tom would never get called for anything.)
