I think it has more to do with how much money he is due next year than anything else.

There's 58 million reasons why he's still starting. However Ryan should be fired immediately if someone OTHER then McElroy starts next week. Now that there's officially no hope, see what McElroy's got, see if he's worth keeping around as a backup.

Forget math, here is the Play off picture:

Houston Texans: 12-2
Denver Broncos: 11-3
New England Patriots: 10-4

Baltimore Ravens: 9-5
Indianapolis Colts: 9-5

In the Hunt:
Cincinnati Bengals: 8-6
Pittsburgh Steelers: 7-7

This weekend will seed the final wildcard spot as the Bengals play the Steelers.

What would be funny is if the Ravens lose to both the Giants and the Bengals over the next two weeks and enters the playoffs as a wild card.

A threeway tie gives the division to the Steelers and the Wild Card to the Ravens as the Bengals have a horrible divisional record

Yeah I agree there is no reason for him to start now that they are eliminated

There was no reason to start him BEFORE they were eliminated. Maybe they wouldn't be eliminated if they had gone in a different direction.

They don't have any other good options at QB

Cincinnati can still lose this weekend and get in. Doubtful as they would have to beat Baltimore at home and have Pittsburgh lose once again to Cleveland. Pittsburgh is officially eliminated with a loss, however.

You know your teams QB situation is dreadful when your "best" quarterback is inactive for 13 of the 16 games of the season.
