I never understood it and wanted to - but it seemed to be a "secret club" my husband did not want me to enter - I would ask questions, but never got answers.

I began to wonder how boys just seem to "get it." I still do not know the answer to this question. How do young boys understand all of the dynamics - it almost seems innate. It's very weird to me.

Also, it must be the way I process information because in a game, for me it is hard to actually see what is going on and then to interpret it all takes time and then they are on to the next play. I just do not "get" it - I think I don't understand the general concept.

From what I read of the link I provided above - they are trying to move down the field a little bit at a time and are having fist fights in the meantime - something like that - is that the general gist of it?

Are athletics involved (besides running and throwing?) . . .I can't tell but there must be more to it than the fighting and moving down the field little by little.

I'll tell a story about a friend here in Wisconsin. She listens to WGN radio all the time and of course, they broadcast the Bears games. Her husband is a Packers fan. She would listen to the game, ask him questions and now she loves football and has stayed a Bears fan. Go figure, but she learned about football. I still say listening to games on the radio is more insightful than TV.
