But Houston has to win on Sunday to secure Homefield advantage, so they'll be bringing their A game. Though other teams have failed to stop Peterson lately, I think the Texans might be able to contain him somewhat, possibly holding him to around 100 yards....meaning he would need nearly 200 against the Packers week 17
I think you are thinking of the defense from two months ago. Houston's defense is no longer solid.

If Peterson gets 200 yards in week 17 he should get all the year end awards even coach of the year, lol

Tampa's #1 rushing defense is leading the league by a wide margin and their 3.5 ypc is also leading the league. Peterson averaged 8.2 ypc against Tampa in week 8.

Peterson has either been the 1st or 2nd rusher in 6 of his past 8 weeks, 3rd and 5th in the other two weeks.

It's not a question of if he breaks Dickerson's record but whether or not he will do it this week in front of his family and friends in Houston. Would seem to be appropriate to set the single game and season rushing records in the same week, yes?

Dude...if breaks single game rushing record AND the Dickerson record in the same game, there's no way AP isn't MVP of the league...no ****ing way.

Damn Calvin! He only needs 104 for 2,000! With nothing else to play for, I'll bet Detroit builds a game plan around Calvin next week.

I'm pretty sure they did that this game. And pretty much every game this season.

The first 2,000 yard receiver, that would be quite an accolade. Too bad the Lions keep getting these stud skill position guys but can't ever seem to amount to anything.
