Lovie Smith expected to sit out 2013 season

And while two openings remain, Smith isn't believed to be a candidate for either.

So Smith is expected to sit out the 2013 NFL season and reconsider his options next offseason, according to a league source.
I'm long past tired of hearing how Lovie isn't getting a fair shake because of his skin color.

Kinda like the gal at McDonalds forgets to put the extra cheeseburger in your bag.....racism! There can be no other possible reason.

Lovie is going to back in a sweet coaching job in a year or two IF HE WANTS the offered position.....and all the people starting race-crap like this won't ever note it....they'll be over in the Barry Bonds HOF thread saying he got snubbed because he's black.

He's taking a year off because he's not getting any offers not because he wants to. If a team wanted to hire him then he would coach this season. Your post proves this.

This thread is not about Lovie, its about black coaches in general, hence the title "Black head coaches getting the shaft" You may disagree but its a legitimate complaint.

I think thinned lipped arrogant white guys that have won a SB are getting the shaft. Hence, the reason why Brian Billick hasn`t been offered a job in years

Your very first post mentioned Lovie and no other black coaches.

You claimed he wasn't getting any interviews.

It was pointed out to you that he was.

Now it isn't even about Lovie?

Can you read? The title of thread says " Black Head coaches getting the shaft". I simply mentioned Lovie since he was the only black coach who got fired who had a respectable win - loss record. Romeo Crenell doesnt count.

What a stupid thread..
Agree 100%. I think it would be more fair if more white guys were playing basketball at the pro level, but I understand why this is not the case. As it should be with every job in this country, may the most qualified player, coach, or candidate get the job. Sometimes people forget also that just because someone is qualified does not mean they are neccessarily a good fit either. Accepting anything less is not a good business practice.

Billick doesn't have a job because he's arrogant.(Thats what GM's are saying about him when he interviews).

It's called Diversity
You may want to talk to the Asian/Mexican kids all benefiting from it!
Some Asians' college strategy: Don't check box

It's not about the interviews.
It's about hiring a qualified black coach, not just giving him a rigged interview.
