I really think the Chargers were a much better team than what they have shown in recent years - Norv Turner seems to bring out the worst in teams. Now that he's gone, I really think the Chargers will be the next first Super Bowl Championship team. This of course after the 'skins win three more!
Had to look, you got me, Ghengis. I mentioned Vikings and got told, I didn't want them in the playoffs but now I said they could be SB contenders? Anything to keep the north competitive!
Unfortunately, Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings, Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals were all overlooked on accident.
I AM speaking only of SUPERBOWL era champions, and not pre Superbowl era.
Pre Superbowl era, The Cleveland Browns have 8 championships, Lions have 4, Eagles, Vikings, Bills, Chargers, Cardinals (not Arizona) and Titans (as Houston Oilers) all have multiple championships already, leaving only 7 championshipless teams, to include MINNESOTA.
(Atlanta, Seattle, Cincinnati, Jacksonville, Houston, Minnesota and Carolina remain championshipless).
But only four NFL championships -- those four AAFC championships are nice, but aside from the 49ers there wasn't much competition.
