Tom Brady is a better QB from an effectiveness perspective, as he is proving again this season. Tom Brady may in fact be the 'GOAT' of pro football. Favre is good, but he's no Brady...

Brady is no Manning either. Blah blah blah.

Favre is the greatest ever when you look at the record books. Brady will get his chance at the record books possibly, but I doubt he will finish his career ahead of Manning. Brady has the best coaching and support ever to go along with being a great QB to begin with. Lets see him pull his team to a great record through a few seasons with an awful defense and then we can assess how great of a leader he is.

Joe "cool" was definitely one of the best, even though his career numbers weren't crazy. His confidence and leadership was behind a lot of 49ers getting superbowl rings. Also very easily to argue the greatest post season qb of all time. If I remember right, he had over a 120 passer rating, and over 10 Td's in the superbowls with zero interceptions. Phenomenal leadership under pressure.

John Elway was fun to watch. No way of knowing what he was going to do.

I say Elway is number 1, but there is about ten guys you could make a convincing argument for.

Elway will always be number one, I think he would have broke more records if he had had a better team in the earlier years one man cant carry the whole team. I met him at his resturant, what a thrill and beyond nice. To watch hime was pure excitement, what an arm. Now I see his son is throwing the exact same. Cant wait for part too!!!!!!!!!!

How can Elway be number one if Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and Joe Montana all are?

Seriously, there is no argument. The best of all time is only a symbolic argument. Who a person is the biggest fan of will determine opinions. As a Packer fan, I will always see Favre as the greatest. I certainly wouldn't expect a Broncos, Colts, Patriots, etc fan to agree with me though.

I like Favre, to me he is second. Tust me I am no Green Bay fan either, but I will freely admit when a quarterback is outstanding or not. I like Tom Brady as well, but I see more team than just the quarterback with the Patriots. Elway and Favre stand out.
