Some of the helmet designs that were bounced around...

Miami Dolphins - proposed in 1990 but obviously not accepted.

Cincinnati Bengals - proposed in 2008.

Atlanta Falcons - proposed in 2008.

Detroit Lions - no one knows if the team even considered this.

New York Jets - this is rumored to take place in the near future (May already be)

San Francisco 49ers - This helmet lasted ONE DAY in 1991 when Carmen Policy took over the team. Outcry from the fans forced them to retain the old helmet design. Smart move...

I don't know what your source is, and I can't speak to all the stuff you posted......

.......but that Bengals helmet pre-dates 2008. Marvin Lewis had one in his office since at least 2005 as a gift from a designer friend of his. I don't think it was ever anything more than a desk ornament.

of all the above, the only one i can see as an improvement is the Jets. As for the 49ers, I remember when this one was released. What a joke. The 49ers already have a great logo and helmet. How they could even consider this is beyond me.

All of them look pretty awful to me except for the Lions one, and that one looks too much like the Jaguars logo.

The Bungles have the most hideous uniform in the NFL, even uglier that the Ravens all black nightmare. That Jets helmet looks just like the current version, which dates back to the 60's.
