NFL’s Help Sought On Promoting Obamacare Insurance Plans

Top federal health officials are in talks with the National Football League to promote the health law’s insurance marketplaces that begin enrolling people Oct 1.

“The NFL is enthusiastically engaged … and they see health promotion as a good thing for them and for the country,” Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said during a media briefing Monday.

From a football standpoint - I think this is stupid. They do football and on a smaller basis charity, not politics. This will hurt the bottom line if they undertake this.

Please keep comments football centered - not politics centered. Is this wise for the league to do?

I assume these would be some sort of public service announcements shown during commercial time.

As a Cardinals fan I use commercial time to get up and storm around the room in disgust. Don't care about any commercial unless it's during the Super Bowl.

Even it if NFL did, who cares. That shouldn't stop you from being fan of your team.

If they do it as fact related public service announcements explaining the actual details, I see no harm in the NFL being involved. HOWEVER, if the NFL broadcasts the spots in a manner extolling all the wonderful things about Obamacare (as dictated to them by the Obama regime), then I have a real problem with this. I want facts about this monstrosity, not hyperbole.

Looks like the NFL is having second thoughts about that:

NFL: We’ll punt on promoting ObamaCare « Hot Air

Good for the NFL. Stick to what made you the most popular sport in the country - playing football.

Why would such a wonderful plan need promotion??? It's wonderful right??

It's so wonderful, the President and the Democrats who forced this upon us are EXEMPTED FROM IT and the penalties!!
