Not that the Jets are anywhere close to a playoff calibur team, but I almost feel bad for that brutal stretch between weeks 5 and 9. @ Atlanta, Pittsburgh, New England, @ Cincinnati and New Orleans? I couldn't see them losing by fewer than 10 points in any of those games except MAYBE Cincinnati. There is no question in my mind that Geno will be named starter by then if he is not on the field for the home opener.

Honestly out of that stretch I think NO is their best shot at a W, Cincy's got a squad this year by my estimation, unless they find a way to mess it up like they frequently do.
But anyway, do the Jets still have their 1st round pick this year? Because I think it's going to come really early in the draft this year, like top 2 early.
Sanchez just doesn't have that "winner" type of mentality needed to be a franchise quarterback in this league. Maybe a change of scenery and a better coaching staff would help, but even that is a stretch at this point.
Mark starts the 1st pre-season game but talking heads think Smith might start regular season. This from NFL not ESPN.
I think you are on the right track, he says things don't bother him but projects a different image, like everything does. You have to get thick skin and ignore the outside noise. I also think it really makes a difference where a QB lands, the system, how strong they are developing QBs. Who knows, it might have made a difference for Sanchez.
