Population means nothing when it comes to creating a winning formula. What's the population of Green Bay? Roughly 100,000. Very easily one of the most successful franchises in the NFL.
Sometimes its like L.A. has too many other things going on to support an NFL team properly. They blew 2 chances, I think other cities deserve a shot more than L.A.

I personally think that Toronto has a better chance of getting an NFL team, the Bills will be sold once Ralph Wilson dies, and rumors are the team may move to Toronto....which would be interesting to say the least....I personally would prefer the league to just add two franchises rather than move a team, but that is my opinion.
Mcgowdog is right again. I never gave much thought about the Raiders building new fans, but the Rams were an old-line, proud franchise. All through the Fifties through the Eighties they drew the people in. Deacon Dan Towler, Norm Van Brocklin, Elroy "Crazy Legs" Hirsch, Bob Waterfield in the Fifties, Deacon Jones, Merlin Olsen, Rosey Greer, Jack and Jim Youngblood, Fred Dryer, Jackie Slater, and a bunch of other HOFers. I don't see a franchise going there in the next 5 years. It's too bad because there are a lot of NFL fans there that deserve a team there. I would love to be proven wrong.

Maybe it should tell you something about LA that it lost 2 NFL teams. Its not a good football town. If LA would support a team, one would be there already with its population.
Agreed with what MrKrabs said. If LA were to get a team, they would most likely want another team in say Anaheim. Still it seems weird they dont have one but oh well. Perhaps the Raiders may want to move back their one day?

Until I see poster after poster from SoCal saying "We need an NFL Franchise Now and we WILL support it", what difference does it make what the rest of the country thinks?
Ha Ha, I was just going to say that. LA is a good football town, but for USC. It is like the same thing here in Alabama, they love football down here (I'm from Chicago) but it's not pro football, it is all college.
Certain areas have such a love for the college game that a pro team won't survive. LA is certainly one of them.
