Matt Schaub of Houston Texans leaves game with ankle injury, prompting cheers from fans - ESPN

People who do things like this are disgusting.
No matter how you feel about a player, there should be a line of decency or respect somewhere..

Worst yet, apparently he was actually playing pretty well in the game up to that point.
Quote:
But Schaub's performance wasn't the cause of the deep deficit the Texans faced at that point. He left with a 98.5 passer rating, having completed 15-of-21 passes for 186 yards. He hadn't thrown a touchdown or an interception, and the Texans trailed 31-6. The Texans turned the ball over twice, once when DeAndre Hopkins fumbled at the Rams' 14-yard line. That drive led to a Rams field goal. Later, kickoff returner Keshawn Martin fumbled a ball that Daren Bates plucked out of the air and returned for a touchdown.
Texas is one of the last places where I would think something like this would happen.
Have to admit it was pretty sweet to see his backup come in and be just as bad...

Can't really hear the cheer from the espn video.
A few videos already hit youtube

I cannot imagine any circumstance I would cheer at a player's injury. Any player. Horrible.

I heard it - it wasn't huge. It wasn't like an Eagles' crowd cheering an injury...

Texans fans should be ashamed of themselves for cheering after their own player got injured.

I get that its not PC to cheer when a player gets hurt but IMO, its not that big a deal. It was not a life threatening situation.. its a GAME and the guy makes like $10mill a year to play the game. As a fan, are we suppose to feel sorry for him, perhaps have a moment of silence because he twisted his knee.. ?

For the record, I don't cheer when a player gets injured, but i don't freak out when other fans do.. BFD!

I can't think of any better karma for that cheering when TJ Yates threw a pick-6 to kill that drive. Could not have happened to a nicer fanbase.

The fanbase is generally OK - just frustrated. I think this would happen, on a small scale, in most places.

Matt Cassell played for the Chiefs and got injured last year. Fans cheered, didn't they? I think so...

OK - enough beating up on the fans. Time to figure out the Texans. If this gets too bad, I would like to see Keenum get a shot. Texans would have to be 2-9 before that happens though.

Yeah, the KC fans did the same thing. And to be honest I think any team could be guilty of doing something like this. Just takes a few idiots...

49ers fans didn't cheer but they did do the wave as a player lay on the field pretty seriously injured.

Houston typically has one of the better crowds. I've known many people who have gone there for games and all of them have raved about the Texans fans. However, this Schaub deal has gotten a bit nuts and it culminated yesterday.

Combine that with the dopes in SF doing the wave while Calais Campbell was being strapped to a board on the field and it just goes to show why I pretty much chose to stay home most of the time when it comes to the NFL.
