Despite all the hype around the Chargers, their season ended in a bit of a whimper. Good game, Broncos!

Nothing beats a Brady & Manning AFC showdown. I love these games.

NFL couldn't have asked for a better championship weekend. The story lines are good. Manning vs Brady. Carroll vs Harbaugh. I gag when I say this but go Broncos.

I like the way the Chargers played in the 2nd half, and if I were a Denver fan, I'd be more than a little concerned over how close that game got late. It's the 2nd time I've seen Denver fold late against a good team, and the first time it happened came against the team they're playing next weekend - and they lost. What I'm getting at is, with the margin for victory and defeat so razor thin nowadays due to league parity and just generally sound coaching on every team, the Broncos are a team that seems not to make the best adjustments in the 2nd half. What's worse is, they're playing against a coach and a QB that are legendary for making late adjustments in a game. I still like the Broncos, but I don't think they're a lock by any means.

Anyone who thinks they are is nuts. I'm a longtime avid Bronco fan and am thrilled that "we" are in the conference championship game. We have a 50-50 chance of finally making it back to the Super Bowl. And a 50-50 chance of not. Or thereabouts.

And a 25-75 chance of winning the Super Bowl. Or thereabouts.

Chances are we'll experience the agony of defeat, just like 28 other NFL teams already have. But we still have a real shot at winning it all. It's been a long time since the Broncos have been this close, much longer than it's been for any other team still in the running.

Oh please, Mr. Football God, just two more wins. I don't care if they're ugly wins or 1 point wins. Two more wins and the new family cat will be named Peyton.

Picked both winners in the Divisional AFC games right and now on to the AFC Championship which I think Denver wins a close one.

You might considering naming that cat Russell.

The stats are not that simple. You really need to take into account the teams playing. The Pats, the Seahawks and the Niners are all very good and are big challenges, but they are all beatable.

It may be a long time since the Broncos have been this close but remember that Seattle has never won a Super Bowl. It's not like they're perenially great like the Patriots.

It's been considered. My wife is a Seahawks fan.

She also says that only its middle name will be Peyton or Russell, so it might be S**thead Peyton or S**thead Russell.
