Sportsbook is listing the 49ers as a 1 point favorite over the Panthers...not surprised they are favorites....

I am surprised by this. That defense is for real and Newton is starting to look like the QB we all thought he could be.

One thing is guaranteed... 3 top defenses (SEA, SF, CAR) are alive in the NFC playoffs.... NO also has an above average defense... certainly miles above where they were a year ago.

Gonna be brutal games...

Considering the match-up, I think the Saints defense had the best weekend. I know the Eagles offense has been hot and cold this year, mostly hot but they have laid a few eggs and certainly the weather played a factor in the game but the Saints defense shut McCoy down and DJackson.. Foles looked very uncertain most of the game.. The Eagle offense was garbage until late when they seemed desperate for a score... pretty impressive.

Will they be able to duplicate it next week in Seattle? It may not matter... the Seahawks might win this one 17-6...

ironic to see the 49ers seemingly less affected by the temps yesterday while the Pack were conducting their sideline meetings huddled around the heaters

It was cold, but honestly thought it was overblown...

All week we heard about temps below zero and wind chills of -25 below....

If you read the thermometer that they showed on the field, the gametime temp was around 6 or 7 ABOVE zero.....it dropped to around 3 degrees by the 4th quarter....

Cold definitely, but definitely "a crying wolf" episode in my mind....

Their track record is still pretty bad

I think the Panthers game is going to be very difficult for the Niners. In terms of the factor of being on the road, this will be the game that could catch up to them, because they'll be traveling from coast to coast. The Panthers are an extremely physical team, and Kap's game wasn't impressive. I think Harbaugh needs at least two or three designed run plays for Kap if they are to be successful. The Panthers will be waiting for it, I'm sure, so the 49ers have to pick their moments to turn Kap loose. Hard to call a winner. I've felt that the 49ers are the best team in the NFL, but the margin between winning and losing is razor thin, and it gets thinner with each passing week in the post-season. The thing that works in the 49ers favor is that they should be able to stop the Panthers offense. If they can't and if Newton has a big day, I think the Niners are screwed. But I'll take them to win a close one in Charlotte.

New Orleans vs. Seattle. I know people love Seattle for the obvious reasons. Playing at home. Beat New Orleans down pretty badly only a few weeks ago. I think you can throw that out the window. The Saints are a veteran team with leaders and skilled players on both sides of the ball. The Saints have better coaches. I would not at all be surprised to see New Orleans win this. I'll have to choose Seattle, but it will be tighter than people think.

Temps didn't get to where they predicted but they are there today. Some of the rookie players for the Packers are pretty funny, quite a few had never seen snow!
