I simply disagree with this idea. The league should not be a respecter of divisions. One year a division is up, the next it is down. Each division should have equal standing with the league, regardless of it being a down year for that division. A team that wins its division at 7-8-1 deserves to be playing at home for the first round of the playoffs.

You want a division winner with less wins than the wild card team to switch places with them because the wild card team missed their opportunity to host a playoff game?

You worded that way better than I could have. Thanks.

Most seasons are going to have a wild card team with a better record than a division winner. Should we reward a wild card team with a home game when they couldn't win their division?

I went back and looked and the last time there were no wild card teams that had a better record than a division winner and the year as 2006. So it happens nearly every season....

My vote is to Keep it to six playoff teams, don't add any regular season games, and give the
Division winner a reward for winning division.

It looks like it's going to be expanded to a 14 team playoff (7 NFC and 7 AFC).

This article here spells out what may happen:

NFL playoffs - Expanded postseason could include 14 or 16 teams and various seeding strategies - ESPN

You dislike Jerry Jones. Fine. Wishing for someone (anyone) to have a stroke is beyond comprehension. How would you like it if someone hoped for you to have a stroke? Dislike Jerry Jones or anyone else all you want. The world is ugly enough without wishing harm to other people

I'm going to shut this thing down and review the thread when I have some time. The above quoted post is not acceptable-period!
