Saw a debate about this on TV. It would really reduce the role of place kickers. But they still will make a big difference with field goals. Anyway, changing the value of a TD to 7 works for me.

I'm not in favor of eliminating the extra point, but make it a little more interesting. Move it back ten yards. It's still easily made, but if your kicker's going into the wind or is just having a bad streak, suddenly teams might consider going for two more often. It transforms the 2-point conversion from being a mostly situational play that is mostly decided upon prior to the game to being more of an on-the-field play. More spontaneity isn't a bad thing, IMO.

I do not understand why people are against this. It is a forgone conclusion that a td is 7 points because the pat is automatic. The accuracy has to be well over 99.9 percent. I could kick the pat and I've never been a kicker or soccer player.

I like the idea and it would call for interesting coaching decisions.

I kind of like the idea of upping the incentive to go for 2. It is harder to do, being in the red zone. But efforts might make the highlights reel.
