Thomas DeCoud from atlanta will most likely be cut. He was a Pro Bowler last yr, but sucked immensely this year. Overrated

Well, now we have two more name players: Champ Bailey is cut and also Devin Hester. Champ says he is interested in a safety spot. I wonder what team might want a 35 year old safety. Any team been suffering from bad safety play? I hear the Vikings were number 32 out of 32 in giving up points in 2013.

Broncos have also told fumble-prone KR Trindon Holliday they won't be extending him an offer sheet, either. The dude is lightning quick but his incessant fumbling will make it hard for him to find another gig.

I don't know that name, but I'm sure most real NFL buffs would recognize the name more readily. I think being a turnover machine figures prominently in decisions to cut. Have a positive ratio of takeaways to giveaways tends to be the mark of a winning team.

I notice the Houston Texans negated every plus on their team by having the worst ratio. Can we expect them to cut some players who contributed heavily to that?

Jason La Canfora reports Cromartie cut from Jets, Sproules cut from Saints.

Jason La Canfora had a long string of names being released. Too many for my memory to regurgitate. But I expect the news will soon be full of players free to the market. And that will produce an even more interesting scenario as the market places price tags on them. I think Pro Bowls won't feature much in the negotiation. Most teams, maybe one hundred percent, have multiple weaknesses and need cap space to plug them. So we'll see a catalogue of players perceived as over the hill, past their prime, trying to get something like what they "think they deserve". I think CJ2K is on the list. But that's the only one that comes to mind.

The Cleveland Browns have cut both Brandon Weeden and Jason Campbell. I knew that Weeden was gone, but I thought that they would have kept Campbell as a back up.

Who's out there qualified as a reliable backup. I wonder if the Vikings 3rd stringer is a prospect.

Wow, the scythe is really cutting down noncontributors! I guess this is an annual ritual. After following the vagaries of the 2013 season, I got tuned to transactions finally. And the list of releases and no offer sheets is amazing! I think the whole sport wants fresh blood even with no pro record.
