I think Jack Tatum's hit on Darryl Stingley was equal if not worst.
Different times, different rules, different mindset.
Today, Vontaze Burfict goes to the head of the list. Because of what we know now about head injuries, any player that intentionally head hunts needs to find a new career and Goodell should help them find one.
- Burfict was seeking revenge for the dirty head shot the Steelers (Shazier) delivered to Bernard to take him out of the game. Like baseball, you hit (or take out) our star, then you can fully expect the same in return.
- That's why Deion said Burfict owes the media an answer. "Everyone isn't against you," they just want an explanation. Defend your action Burfict.
- Burfict just had terrible timing. If he's going to get revenge, he should have done it earlier in the game to take away one of the Steelers weapons.
- Sadly, Burfict had a really good game with the interception, big sack on Ben among other big plays. This overshadows an otherwise very good playoff performance by him.
- I'm just providing a little context, because all most people are seeing is the big hit on Brown & automatically labeling Burfict as the "dirtiest player ever. Meanwhile, the Steelers also went head hunting, but at least Burfict didn't go to the sidelines looking up at the already energetic crowd & start dancing and celebrating after the concussion.

Burfict is not the 'dirtiest player ever'. But he was out of control and especially in the second half. His sacks and interception notwithstanding, he was constantly looking for and trying to cause a fight. His hit on Brown was just the culmination of the general trend of his play.

There was nothing "dirty" about Shazier's hit on Bernard, nothing! Bernard was a runner with the ball and Shazier was ready to hit him square in the numbers but Bernard made a move that brought him lower to Bernard's trajectory.

Burfit beats every player in the NFL for fines by a factor of three.
No, Shazier's hit was dirty without a doubt, and his sideline celebrating after the hit while the Bengal back was struggling to regain his full consciousness was absolutely appalling. He needs to be fines, and suspended.
I'm a Bengal fan and while Shazier's hit should have been penalized, I'm not sure if he meant to really hurt Bernard. I don't think he purposely hit Bernard in the head. Better technique and that's a nice clean and effective hit.

Shazier is leading with his head and is even facing down. Horrible technique. It worked I guess.
